The Anti-Defamation League admitted on Tuesday that the Betsy Ross flag has been "occassionally" used by extremist groups but added that the association was "weak" at best.
On his nationally syndicated radio show Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh told his listeners they shouldn't discount the possibility that pulling the Betsy Ross flag shoes was "a huge publicity stunt".

Not to be out-triggered, fellow 2020 candidate Julián Castro also weighed in on the controversy, comparing the 1776 Betsy Ross flag to "painful" Confederate symbols. Why don't we just have a Nike celebration of the cross - those symbols are symbols of hate.
