Iranian Telecommunications Minister Javad Jahromi denied that there had been a successful cyber attack against the country, despite admitting repeated attempts.
The president says Monday's action follows a series of aggressions by Iran, including the shooting down of a $100 million USA surveillance drone over the Strait of Hormuz. Tensions spiked last week after Iran downed an unmanned US military aircraft.
Trump left that agreement more than a year ago and has imposed a robust slate of punitive sanctions created to choke off Iranian oil sales and cripple its economy - which he now plans to expand.
On a day trip scheduled after Iran shot down a United States drone, Pompeo flew into the Red Sea city of Jeddah and met with King Salman at his palace.
Pompeo's visit comes only days after U.S. and Iran came to the brink of war last week after Iran shot down an American surveillance drone over the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. President Donald Trump changed his mind to strike Iran in the last minute because it wouldn't be a "proportionate" response.
Pompeo will be travelling to UAE next as tensions between USA and Iran continues unabated.
"But know that the United States will remain steadfast in undertaking the actions that the president laid out in this strategy to create stability throughout the Middle East, which includes the campaign we have, the economic campaign, the pressure campaign that we have on the Islamic Republic of Iran", Pompeo added.

A senior U.S. State Department official earlier said the United States is building a coalition with its allies to protect Gulf shipping lanes by having "eyes on all shipping", following attacks on oil tankers that Washington has blamed on Iran. In 2017, state media quoted North Korean leader Kim Jong Un calling Trump "the mentally deranged USA dotard".
Later Tuesday, Rouhani spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron and told him: "If the Americans again want to violate the waters and airspace of Iran, Iran's armed forces are assigned to confront them and will take a strong approach", according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
It is worth mentioning that one Syrian was killed and seven civilians were injured in the Houthi attack.
The airport in the southwestern town of Abha was struck shortly after 9 p.m. local time on Sunday. A fresh round of USA sanctions is to be announced later on Monday in a bid to force the Iranian leadership into talks.
The Houthi rebels claimed they used bomb-laden drones in the attack on the Abha airport, the second in less than two weeks.
"We'll be talking with them about how to make sure that we are all strategically aligned and how we can build out a global coalition", Pompeo said.
Pompeo's mission comes as the US sends conflicting signals on Iran, ranging from bellicose to conciliatory and back again.
