The Toronto Raptors stormed back from an 11-point deficit to take full control of the series with a 105-92 victory against the reeling defending champions.
In the moments after another stunning, no-nonsense win over the Golden State Warriors to push their lead into the series to 3-1, the scene on the carpeted path the doors of the locker room was somewhat head-shaking.
Trailing by as many as 11 points in the first half, the Raptors roared back with 37 points in the third, outscoring the Warriors by 16 points in the frame.
In case you haven't been keeping up: the Golden State Warriors are having a tough time during the NBA Finals and on Friday they lost, yet again, to the Toronto Raptors at home.
When Golden State was down 3-1 in the West finals to Oklahoma City - and Durant - in 2016, it needed to win just one road game in order to escape that mess. The latest possible date for a potential Game 7 is June 16th, so Golden State is quickly running out of time to get Durant up to speed. They were down by four at the half, but would a mandatory third quarter explosion from Golden State be on the cards?
The Raptors acquired Leonard, Gasol and Danny Green in their quest for their first National Basketball Association championship.
We're also openly wondering exactly what the Warriors did on offense here. They made such a show of their presence around Leonard the Raptors reported them to the league for tampering, and Doc Rivers eventually got fined for it.
"Klay was awesome", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. That isn't to say fans aren't going to games, but as the home entertainment setup advances and ticket prices continue to rise, there will eventually be more reasons to not go to a live event than to attend. But I'm not thinking, like... just because of this and this I'm gonna re-sign.
Mexico aims to avoid tariffs with deal that stems migrant travel
On Thursday, Mexico said it had offered to send 6,000 national guard troops to its border with Guatemala to secure the crossing. One estimate is that the tariffs on Mexico could boost the average price of automobiles sold here by $1,300.
Draymond Green recorded a 10-point, 12-assist double-double, and Kevon Looney, returning from a shoulder injury, chipped in with 10 points for the Warriors.
The two teams were a combined 4-for-30 from three-point range through the first half.
"You just try to win one game", he said.
"I think I've said it in many ways, and I think [Kawhi's] really been - his demeanour has kind of taken a big part of our team".
Klay Thompson, who sat out Game 3 with a hamstring injury, had 28 points to top the Warriors, who are making their fifth consecutive Finals appearance.
About the only think Ibaka did wrong Friday night was wear tight trousers then try to take a seat next to Kyle Lowry at the postgame podium.
Kerr and the Warriors have taken a few haymakers from the Raptors, and they don't seem to have a counter. Any time a questioner got too far ahead, asked a question beyond the scope of the game that was just played, Gasol was there to remind him. You ought to see a Detroit game.
Underrated Raptors player (s) of the game: Serge Ibaka came off the bench to score 20 points in 22 minutes.
What Ibaka has brought, as much as blocked shots or jump shots, is energy. "We win one, then we'll build on that".
