The deal has been in the making for months, dating back to January when Davis requested a trade and the Lakers tried but failed to make it happen before the league deadline. This time, that talent is joining him, as the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and a war chest of draft picks. Would you really give a player a huge deal if you couldn't have him play for an entire season?
Los Angeles will reportedly send a king's ransom to New Orleans for Davis.
Previously, Anthony Davis named the Lakers as a "desired long-term" landing spot. Will Irving stay with the Celtics, or will he choose to play for his hometown team or even go elsewhere?
Fury the entertainer downs Schwarz in second round TKO
The tone of the evening was set from the very start - when Fury made his entrance dressed as Apollo Creed from Rocky IV. Referee Kenny Bayless stopped it at roughly the same moment Schwarz's corner threw the white towel into the ring.
"There's not much I can say about that, honestly, but there's ongoing conversations", Ainge said at the time. The former Blue Devil averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 49.7% from the field and 33.0% from 3-point range. "So I started getting calls from my friends outside of basketball, saying those things now were said to them, outside of basketball now, just not in the Lakers office anymore". In addition to the fourth overall pick, they are sending three first-round picks and the right to swap a fourth one to the Pelicans.
The Lakers also managed to keep forward Kyle Kuzma, one of the players mentioned earlier in a possible deal.
