Actor Vivek Oberoi on Monday faced intense social media backlash, including by fellow actors who called him out for posting a "disgusting" distasteful Twitter meme, which likened the exit poll results to his past relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
When asked to comment on the notice issued to him by the National Commission for Women and Maharashtra State Commission for Women, the actor clarified, "I'm waiting for National Commission for Women, State Commission for Women. If someone mocks you, you should not take it seriously", he said.
"Reacting to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's reaction to his tweet (on exit polls), Oberoi said,"...
Women supporting women is something we want to see more of in 2019 and we're glad that in general people are willing to call out something problematic when they see it. "We will be talking to Twitter to remove that tweet immediately". He further asked her to react less on social media. "@NCWIndia will be serving notice to @vivekoberoi".
"Haha! creative! No politics here. just life", Oberoi captioned the photo.
