Conway died at 8:45 a.m.in the Los Angeles area. Conway had been suffering from dementia and unable to speak following brain surgery in September.

Conway's most memorable characters on The Carol Burnett Show were Mr. Tudball, the exasperated boss of Carol Burnett's bored and frustrating Mrs. Wiggins; Mickey Hart, Ed Higgins' (the late Harvey Korman), pal and hardware store righthand man; and an elderly dentist who frightened and entertained Korman's patient character.
The newly self-christened Tim Conway soon got an even bigger break in 1962 with the role of the bumbling ensign on "McHale's". They toured the country for years with a sketch show called "Together Again", which drew on characters from Burnett's show.
The actor, who died Tuesday at the age of 85, is being remembered by some of his co-stars and other Hollywood stars as a man who brought joy to others on and off-screen.

He was born Thomas Conway in 1933 in the Cleveland suburb of Willoughby. Marie went on to recommend him for famed '60s talk show host Steve Allen's new show. Unfortunately, "The Tim Conway Show" and "The Tim Conway Comedy Hour" were both canceled after airing half a season each on CBS. In her petition, Kelly detailed her concerns with her stepmother, Charlene's, medical decisions regarding Tim Conway.

Conway leaves behind his wife of 35 years, a stepdaughter, six children and two grandchildren.
