As Page Six previously reported, O'Donnell - who was named Monday as the next anchor of "CBS Evening News" - has been lobbying to get the gig since before her predecessor, Jeff Glor, was hired in October 2017.
As for Dickerson, he'll be leaving the morning program to serve as a 60 Minutes correspondent, and he'll also be a contributing anchor for CBS' political coverage.
The "CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell" will debut this summer from NY before moving to Washington D.C.in the fall. He will also have a key role as a contributing anchor to the Network's political coverage of primary and election nights. "I was looking through some things that Walter Cronkite said, and he said, 'I can't imagine a person becoming a success in life without giving everything they've got.' And so I'm going to give this everything I've got". While it isn't clear yet what this will mean for Glor's relationship with CBS. he closed out Evening News tonight by thanking those who've watched and supported him. CBS News has one of the most hallowed lineages in the business - it is, after all, home to "60 Minutes".

This official report comes a little over a month after CBS This Morning co-host Banna Golodryga suddenly exited both the morning show and the network altogether.

"As we transition the Evening News to Washington, we are discussing opportunities for Jeff to remain with CBS News and continue providing the same substantive, trusted reporting that he has been offering for the past 12 years".
