Authorities in East Texas say two children were killed after a tree fell on a vehicle as it was being driven during a strong storm.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center is cautioning that, "Strong tornadoes are possible today into tonight from east Texas into MS, with the greatest threat expected between 2PM-8PM CDT".
The Houston County Sheriff's Office also confirmed to PEOPLE that a 70-year-old woman, whom police have identified as Kathryn Baxter, died in her home located in the eastern part of Houston County, Texas, from storm-related debris.
According to the Post, a tornado that struck the Central Texas town of Franklin destroyed 55 homes, and injured over a dozen people. "We are just a mess", Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell told the outlet.
The biggest threat with the storms will be damaging winds with the possibility of a tornado.
