The Steam Link app launched on Android almost a year ago, but there were some restrictions with it.
Steam Link Anywhere means that as long as your internet connection is stable and you don't mind having a computer running while you're out, you should theoretically be capable of playing games literally anywhere. Steam Link Anywhere will open things up further, allowing you to stream your Steam library to devices outside of your home network.
Beto O’Rourke to Announce 2020 Presidential Bid
While offering few specifics about his vision for the nation, O'Rourke told Vanity Fair , "I want to be in it". Then he added: "Is he insane or is that just how he acts?" "I've never seen anything quite like it", he said.
As you would expect, you will need a strong upload connection from your home PC and a strong download connection for the network you are streaming to. Go to the Steam Link computer settings and select "Other Computer".
Valve did not state the exact specifications required to stream at various resolutions, but added that it would continue to improve the Steam Link Anywhere experience. You should be able to pick a game and then stream it to your Android device as if you were on the same network as your host PC.
Remember that both the Steam client and the Steam Link Android app are in beta, so if this doesn't work for you (or doesn't work that well) don't be too surprised. However, with the introduction of the Anywhere feature, you are free to choose where you want to enjoy your Steam games. Regardless, this is an exciting development from Valve that represents just how powerful gaming will be on the 5G networks of the future, with fast speeds and low latencies.
