Last month, Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Chicago's Cook County. Three of the four victims making current allegations against him are underage and R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
It's in this light that Kelly spoke with King. The charges say Kelly used force or the threat of force.
"I don't need to. I was more anxious that he was going to get up and leave", King explained. According to the report, R. Kelly may find himself headed back to jail for failure to pay the debt.
"That's stupid, use your common sense", he adds. The couple said they have not spoken to their 23-year-old daughter for two years and asked Kelly to make her available to talk to them.
In a particularly dramatic moment, Kelly angrily stood up and started pacing, his voice breaking as he yelled, "I didn't do this stuff!"
Avenatti, who says he represents one of the victims included in the indictment, said Kelly was right to cry. "Thirty years of my career!" "Y'all trying to kill me!" he screams, pointing aggressively at the cameras.
"But, I will tell you this". This is not about music.
"Lots of things wrong when it comes to women and I apologize but I apologized in those relationships at the time I was in those relationships".
"I just knew that I was never in danger", she said. "You don't want to believe it".

Samsung is also considering incorporating in-display fingerprint sensors in its folding phones, according to reports. It may feature a second external display, like the Galaxy Fold , depending on how customers respond to the Fold.
In a second clip of the interview, R. Kelly began to become more visibly emotional while denying the accusations. A slide show King posted on Instagram that featured a similar image has received more than 31,000 likes.
"Black women should not have to always be unflinchingly courageous", one Twitter-user wrote.
Gayle, by the way, has been praised for her composure during the emotional interview. And of course, her longtime best friend weighed in.
"Once again, masterful interviewing by @GayleKing". "Tell @CBSThisMorning we want to see the whole thing".
On Friday, March 8, CBS will broadcast a separate interview King conducted with two young women now living with Kelly. In charging documents, prosecutors cited statements he made during an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" identifying two people in a still photo of the surveillance video as his attackers. While sitting with King, Kelly insisted that he did not have sex with Clary when she met the singer at age 17, and when asked by King if he's "an older man that likes younger women", Kelly responded by saying "I'm an older man that loves all women".
"In some ways we were seeing a breakdown right before our eyes", King said.
We revealed how King - who is on $6 million a year - was ready to walk amid all the chaos following the firing of Charlie Rose and Les Moonves.
