This weekend, Americans will once again navigate their complex relationship with the chronically confusing and arguably misnamed daylight saving time. The best practice on that is to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday.
Daylight time used to arrive in April, just like relatives from Alberta, but since 2007, it has landed on the second Sunday in March.
"The light that you receive immediately after waking up is very good to tell your biological clock to advance", Carrier said.
Go to bed early enough on Sunday night to get plenty of sleep before the week begins on Monday.

If the Sunshine Protection Act became law, it would essentially end daylight saving time by making it the new, permanent, immutable standard time.
Not everyone in the United States follows it either. So make a note if you'll be traveling to Yucatan this month - there will be an extra hour difference in time.
Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Idaho are all angling to do the same, with proposed legislation in the works. A bill was recently introduced in the Arkansas Legislature to eliminate Daylight Saving Time in the state, but it was withdrawn on February 27.
