While the U.S. decision to recognise Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights is primarily being explained away with geopolitics, it in fact has much more to do with USA domestic politics.

Turkey's foreign minister said that the USA had ignored worldwide law and that the decision would further increase tensions in the region.
In Suwaida, people gathered near the building of the Governorate building in condemnation of Trump's declaration on the occupied Syrian Golan.
"The recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, an occupied territory, would be contrary to worldwide law".
The Arab Parliament's rejection of the U.S. recognition of Golan Heights is totally justified.
