Gonzales's comments followed a bombshell report about Trump telling former White House counsel Don McGahn to prosecute former Democratic presidential candidate Clinton and former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey earlier this year. "You don't want to weaponize the political differences".
The Hill reports that Trump had apparently spoke with White House Counsel at the time, Don McGahn, about prosecuting Clinton and Comey in the spring.
McGahn warned Trump that doing so would create massive political fallout, even saying he could be impeached for abuse of power.
