FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Garrison Mathews had 23 points, Kenny Cooper scored 17 with a couple of breakaway layups off steals and Lipscomb held on to upset TCU for its first win over a Top 25 team.
"I think he switched on me and he was trying to play one-on-one against me, and I was like, 'OK, let's do it, '" Hachimura said after the game. "I thought we played great". They actually looked inconsistent through their first two games at the Maui Invitational, but they punched Duke in the mouth early on Wednesday and never looked back en route to a 16-point second-half lead. Yet, Gonzaga competed until the end and won without standout Killian Tillie, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.
Duke has undeniable offensive talent.
The potential NBA Draft lottery pick looked the part in the opening minutes, matched up against Williamson.
Not many teams can do what the 'Zags did to beat the top-ranked Blue Devils.

The Bulldogs have tons of talent, but they also have a lot of experience.
It's undeniable - the amount of talent on the court in this game was incredible. The Buckeyes shot just 37.5 percent from the field in the first half while Samford shot 50 percent and led 32-29 at the break.
A Duke run was inevitable.
Even as their lead disappeared and their shots (and free throws) stopped falling in a wild atmosphere, the Bulldogs did not panic. Per ESPN Stats & Info, Williamson and Barrett combined to shoot just 14-of-33 (42.4 percent) in the paint Wednesday, a drop from the 64.3 percent clip they'd produced in the paint during the first five games. The Bulldogs seemed to feed off it.
Gonzaga secured the win by blocking four shots in the final 46 seconds, including Brandon Clarke's rejection of R.J. Barrett's drive on the final play. Gonzaga guard Zach Norvell Jr. who chipped in 18 points himself, summed up his their efforts as a complete team effort. "[Josh] Perkins, with him being one of the top guards in the country, him controlling the pace of the game was huge for us". Duke got a defensive stop due to an illegal screen foul call but Cam Reddish missed a forced shot inside as Duke was aggressive on defense as it sought to get two possessions before the end of the half.
We're starting to feel a little bad for Kansas.
"I think he (got a) switch to me and tried to play one-on-one against me", said Hachimura of Barrett's attempted late-game heroics.
