Chick-fil-A is my favorite place! I love everything about it, especially the food! Did you know that they serve soup? Our location has Chicken Noodle Soup and Chicken Tortilla Soup. The Chicken Tortilla is a spicy soup and pairs so great with their frosted lemonade. The Chicken Noodle is fantastic and is definitely a family favorite! One of the things that I love about Chick-fil-A is their containers. They are sturdy and have so many uses. So instead of throwing them away, I like to re-use them or upcycle them. You can use them for leftovers, to pack lunches, or you can get really creative and make so many amazing things.
We will be doing a lot of traveling this year so I wanted something my kids could play with while traveling. My kids are big “I Spy” fans, so I decided to create an I Spy Travel Game.
To make this you will need:
- Beads, rice, or anything that can be the main filler
- Small objects (you can find a lot of these at Hobby Lobby or a craft store)
- Glue gun
- A list of the items needed to find
- paint or spray paint (optional)
You don’t have to paint your container, but I decided to paint the bottom red. I found that spray paint would have worked a lot better, unfortunately all I had on hand was paint. It still works in a pinch, but spray paint is best.
Once your container has dried, fill it up with rice, beads, or whatever you are using as the filler. Next, mix in the small objects.
Once your objects and filler are in, use your glue gun to glue the lid and container together. Make a list of all the objects you put in and either tape them to the bottom or attach them to the side.
Ta-da…you have now upcycled your Chick-fil-A container into an awesome “I Spy” Travel game. Have you upcycled your Chick-fil-A containers? If so, share with us what you have done or what you will do with your next one!
