Heartland Film Festival To Celebrate The 10th Anniversary Of The Ultimate Gift
With Premiere Screening Event Of The Ultimate Legacy

(Los Angeles, CA, November 15, 2016) – The grand journey towards a purposeful life continues in the captivating new film, THE ULTIMATE LEGACY, arriving on DVD and Digital HD January 3 from Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM). The beloved film franchise based on acclaimed author and motivational speaker Jim Stovall’s best-selling “Ultimate Gift” book series, THE ULTIMATE LEGACY follows the worldwide hits The Ultimate Gift and The Ultimate Life.

Featuring returning fan-favorite stars Logan Bartholomew (The Ultimate Life, Love’s Long Journey), Lee Meriwether (The Ultimate Gift, The Ultimate Life) and Golden Globe® winner Brian Dennehy (The Ultimate Gift, Death of a Salesman), THE ULTIMATE LEGACY also stars Myko Olivier (“Glee,” “Castle”) and Ali Hillis (Must Love Dogs), along with outstanding performances by veteran actors Raquel Welch (Fantastic Voyage, One Million Years B.C.), Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series) and Bill Cobbs (Night at the Museum, Oz, The Great and Powerful).

Directed by Joanne Hock (Trinity Goodheart) and also produced and written by Rick Eldridge (The Ultimate Gift), THE ULTIMATE LEGACY continues the journey of character Jason Stevens (Bartholomew), as he learns firsthand the value of teaching.  Jason must provide guidance to a self-absorbed young man, Joey Anderson (Olivier), who is forced to run his family’s bed-and-breakfast for a year before earning his inheritance in his late grandmother’s will.  As part of Joey’s journey to purpose, he is challenged to grow a conscience and learn to appreciate hard work, forgiveness, generosity and the enduring value of family and friends.

Carrying a powerful message of hard work, generosity and family values, THE ULTIMATE LEGACY was hailed as “an inspiring film” by The Dove Foundation, and was awarded the “Family Approved” seal for children ages 12 and above.

Timed to the tenth anniversary of the release of The Ultimate Gift, The Heartland Film Festival will hold a premiere event for this latest installment in the treasured franchise. Taking place October 21 in Indianapolis, franchise star Brian Dennehy will also be honored with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at this special celebration.

THE ULTIMATE LEGACY will also be the cornerstone for a special benefit to honor St. Jude’s Las Vegas Hospital with producer Rick Eldridge and star Lee Meriwether at Red Rock Casino Theaters on October 27.

Fans can also enjoy the full soundtrack, releasing January 6 by Varèse Sarabande Records.

One of my favorite movies is The Ultimate Gift and I enjoyed watched The Ultimate Life, so I was very excited to see the final movie in the trilogy, The Ultimate Legacy. It reminded me of the Ultimate Gift where there is a young man who can’t get his inheritance until he basically learns a lot of life lessons and learns to be a better person. I did notice that this young man was self-absorbed, but he seemed to also be a kind and genuine person. As the movie progresses, you get to see Jason as he teaches the young man named Joey. You also get to see Jason’s wife and daughter and Joey has a soft spot for Jason’s daughter and that helps to allow himself to open up about his past. It’s a great story and the movie is touching. I think it’s a great family movie and I thought it finished up the trilogy nicely. Be sure to check out The Ultimate Legacy on DVD.

  1. It sounds like a good movie, and trilogy. I like that they’re using this to benefit St. Jude’s Las Vegas hospital, too.

  2. I have not heard of Ultimate Legacy. I am definitely behind in seeing movies, but I think this one I would really like to see.
