My Review
When I was little we went to the premiere of The Swan Princess and it was one of my favorite movies. I haven’t seen any of the other Swan Princess movies besides the first one, so I was excited to watch THE SWAN PRINCESS: PRINCESS TOMORROW, PIRATE TODAY. My first thought was that the animation wasn’t the greatest, but I liked that it had the original main characters from The Swan Princess I grew up with so this movie was about their little girl.

The story line was okay, but I honestly found the whole show mediocre and missed the original movie. However, my kids LOVED the movie and have watched it many times. So for those who grew up watching the original Swan Princess, you will most likely be disappointed, but if your kids love stories about princesses and pirates, then they will most likely love this movie.

THE SWAN PRINCESS: PRINCESS TOMORROW, PIRATE TODAY debuts on DVD on September 6th, so be sure to check it out then.

Comments

  1. It’s so hard to capture the magic of a favorite childhood movie in a sequel. But I’m so glad your kids liked it! Maybe this will be one that they remember later on. 🙂

I have several copies of the original Swan Princess, because I bought one for each of my children. We loved the original. It would be difficult to capture the magic of the original, but some of my grandchildren might like to see this new one, because we loved the characters. I hope it is good enough that we can support companies who make family-friendly movies.
