Walmart & Pampers Team up to Donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (+ Walmart Gift Card Giveaway)

**The Walmart gift cards and information have been provided by P&G.**

I am so grateful every day for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. If it weren’t for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital that we live near, I wouldn’t be here today. When I was 10 months old, I became very ill. My mom took me to the doctor, but they told her I just had a virus and that it would go away. That night she was giving me a bath to try and lower my 104 degree temperature when her gut told her I needed to go to the hospital immediately. I was life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital (which is one of the amazing Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals around the U.S.). I was diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis and the doctor told my mom that if she hadn’t brought me in that night, I would have been dead by morning. My prognosis was not good and they warned my parents that if I survived, I most likely would have problems such as blindness, deafness, or a variety of other problems.

Fortunately, I had amazing doctors and treatments and my life was saved. Not only that, but I also came away with only one deaf ear and no other problems. We were incredibly blessed and fortunate and because this Children’s Miracle Network Hospital saved my life, I now have 3 wonderful children of my own.

I am so thankful for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and today I would like to introduce you to a Miracle child named Olivia.

2014 WI Champion-Olivia (b)

It’s hard to believe that active and joyous Olivia spent her first 11 weeks fighting for life. Born at 25 weeks and weighing just 1 pound 1 ounce, Olivia’s first moments were less than joyful. Doctors told her family the chances of significant physical disability and development delays were very high, and Olivia may not enjoy mobility the same way other children do. And they were right. Olivia does live life differently, but it’s a truly wonderful life that leaves her family feeling blessed for every single day.

CMN Hospitals funds provided Olivia and her family a neonatal isolette for the first 80 days of her life, as well as helped pay for special vision monoculars to improve her vision.

Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 to CMNH this month (June 2015). You can help by purchasing products like Pampers Swaddlers at your local Walmart. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. You can also visit Walmart.com/cmnh for more information and to make your own donation.

Have you had a personal journey with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals? Feel free to share your story, we would love to hear it.
