Healthfull logo hi-res

We eat a lot of bread in our house, but I realized not too long ago that we weren’t eating healthy bread like we used to. We used to only eat whole grain wheat bread, but for some reason that changed and now we have been eating white bread. Bread is the one food that I can always get my kids to eat, so why wouldn’t I want it to be bread that has better-for-you ingredients? I was given the opportunity to swap out all the loaves of bread in my house for Oroweat® Healthfull® Bread so I could fall in love with this delicious bread.

I was a little skeptical if my picky eaters would really eat this bread since some of the breads you could obviously see seeds and nuts in them. Well, this bread proved me wrong! My picky eaters loved it! My boys request the bread every morning. They love having it toasted with a little bit of butter spread on it.

The bread also inspired us to use it for every meal and come up with some yummy recipes. My husband loved making delicious sandwiches with it, such as a toasted ham and cheese sandwich.

The Oroweat® Healthfull® Bread comes in three different varieties: Flax & Sunflower, Steel Cut Oats & Honey, and Nuts & Seeds. We tried all three and we love them all. Since there are only 80 calories per slice, I decided to create a few open faced sandwiches. The Open Faced Turkey Sandwich was really easy to make. I just put a little bit of light mayo on one slice of the Nuts & Seeds bread. Then I topped it with romaine lettuce, turkey slice, tomato, and red onions.

Another open faced sandwich that I made was an Open Faced Bacon & Egg Sandwich. I topped one slice of the Flax & Sunflower bread with slices of bacon (you could use turkey bacon) and then topped it with an “over easy” egg.

My kids love making grilled cheeses with the bread. I love that my kids are eating bread that is made with 100% whole grain flour and is a good source of fiber.

We even used the bread to make a dessert/snack. We used the Steel Cut Oats & Honey bread and we put chocolate chips and marshmallows on one side of the bread.

We then topped it with a second piece of bread and put it in our sandwich maker. About a minute later we had a S’mores Sandwich! It was so good!

I didn’t think it would happen, but it did. My entire family fell in love with the the New Oroweat® Healthfull® Bread. So now I challenge you to take the #LoveYourBread challenge, swap your bread for a week and let the romance begin! Oroweat® Healthfull® Bread is available across the Western U.S. and can be found in the Midwestern U.S. as Brownberry® bread and in the Eastern U.S. as Arnold® bread.
