**I received the product featured below free of charge in order to do an honest review. My thoughts are 100% my own.**
Role play and dramatic play are important for children and helps with their development. I try to provide educational toys and products that help encourage this type of play. My kids love to play “kitchen” and “store” so I love to give them play food to play with. Learning Resources has the best play food, it’s durable and made out of high quality materials. So I was thrilled when we were given the opportunity to review the New Sprouts® Healthy Basket Bundle.
Healthy foods are so important for our growing bodies, but they aren’t necessarily that fun to eat and kids aren’t usually that excited about them. With the New Sprouts® Healthy Basket Bundle, it teaches kids about the different kinds of healthy foods available and gets them excited about it. It teaches them that eating healthy foods can be fun! The bundle comes with 3 baskets: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner.
The breakfast basket comes with 10 pieces of food: Oatmeal w/blueberries, raspberry cluster, grapefruit, cantaloupe, banana, 2 fried eggs, bagel, apple, and yogurt.
The lunch basket comes with 13 pieces of food and a bowl: 2 pieces of wheat bread, slice of turkey, lettuce, tomato, carrot, blueberry cluster, raspberry cluster, strawberry, apple slice, yogurt, and 2 pretzels.
The dinner basket comes with lettuce, carrot slices, and cucumber slices in a small bowl for a salad. It also comes with asparagus, baked sweet potato, salmon, and a grilled chicken breast.
These play foods are a great way to introduce different healthy foods to your child as well as build their vocabulary. My boys didn’t know the word asparagus until we got these baskets. It helps them to know what a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner is supposed to be like. This helps me when they want candy and chips for a meal…I can just remind them about our baskets of play food and what a healthy meal is supposed to look like.
My kids have had so much fun playing with the foods and it has helped my kids start to try new foods. They both now love salad which is something I could never get them to eat before. The play food is made of high quality materials and is hands down the best play food out there. It’s durable and will last a long time, so it’s a great investment. We love the Learning Resources New Sprouts® Healthy Basket Bundle and would highly recommend it. It’s recommended for ages 2+ and is priced at $58.99 which is a great deal considering the quality of the food and the fact that you get 3 baskets of food.
