Now that the weather is getting cold outside, we have been trying to find fun things to do inside. One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to play games. Not only is it fun, but it also teaches my kids so many things (such as taking turns, being patient, counting, etc.). Learning Resources has so many great educational games that are lots of fun as well as teach great concepts. We recently had the opportunity to review the I Sea 10!™ Game.
Have fun with addition in the I Sea 10! game. Great for helping your child to learn to add quickly. Players take turns flipping the cards over to show numbers. You need to “catch” combinations of 10 and when you see it, you shout “I see 10!”. Collect the most 10s and you win, but beware of the hungry Shark cards. If you turn over a shark card, you have to put all your cards back.
Tobin is in first grade and is learning addition. He still resorts to counting on his fingers, so we have been trying to help him to start being able to quickly add in his head. This game was the perfect game to help him do just that.
Tobin really liked the game and he eventually was able to know that 7+3, 6+4, 5+5, 8+2, and 9+1 all added up to 10 without having to count on his fingers.
It’s a fun game and I enjoyed playing it with Tobin and I would highly recommend you check out the Learning Resources I Sea 10!™ Game.
