I love Christmas movies and I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie as well as reading the books, so when I had the opportunity to review the Little House On The Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas DVD. This wonderful DVD has two classic “Little House” Christmas specials that will help bring the Christmas spirit into your home. The first episode is “Christmas at Plum Creek” and I love how it’s set back in a simpler time where gifts weren’t as elaborate as they are now. This episode reminds you what Christmas is really about…love, giving, gratitude, sacrifice, and family. It’s heartwarming and a great movie that the whole family can enjoy together. My boys loved watching it with me and they are only 2 and 6.
The second episode is called “A Christmas They Never Forget” and the Ingalls family is now older and Mary and Laura are both married. A bad snowstorm hits and the whole family is stranded together and forced to wait out the storm. While they are waiting, they reminisce about their favorite Christmases from the past. Each memory had a great message in them and the whole episode reminded you about the true meaning of Christmas.
The whole DVD is fantastic and if you are looking to get into the Christmas spirit, this is the perfect DVD for you. Little House On The Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas arrives on DVD on November 4th, so be sure to check it out then.
