Learning Resources Primary Science Color Mixing Set Review & Giveaway

**I received the product featured below free of charge in order to do an honest review. My thoughts are 100% my own.**

Tobin loves science and is even in a science club at school because he loves it so much. For this month’s Learning Resources review, I let Tobin pick out the product and I was not surprised at all when he chose the Primary Science Color Mixing Set.

This fun set comes with:

  • Kaleidoscope with color chips
  • Color-spinning top with discs
  • Snap-together color wheel
  • 3 Test tubes with lids
  • Dropper
  • Stand
  • Color Mixing Glasses
  • 6 Lenses
  • 10 Cards with easy-to-follow activities

Tobin has had so much fun with everything inside this kit. The kaleidoscope is a lot of fun and allows Tobin to experiment with mixing colors. He especially loves the Color Mixing Glasses! It allows him to see the world in a different color.

The activity cards allow you to get the most out of this kit. They have a variety of activities and experiments to choose from. They tell you exactly what tools and other products you will need to do that activity/experiment. It tells you the key concept of what you will be learning (so this is really great for schools and homeschooling as well as just for fun) as well as step-by-step instructions. Tobin’s favorite activity card was the Making Candy Paint.

We took some M&M’s and sorted the candies by color. Then we put 10 candies in each test tube and used the dropper to squirt water into each test tube. We then put the lids on and gently shook the water until it turned into a color.

Tobin was then able to use the colored candy water to paint pictures! He thought that was so neat and couldn’t believe that candy and water made paint. It was a great experiment and a lot of fun.

The Learning Resources Primary Science Color Mixing Set is so much fun and really allows your child to have a hands on approach to learning about colors. It’s recommended for ages 3+ and priced at $29.99. We highly recommend you check it out.

I really like the variety of items available at Learning Resources Center. It’s also easy to sort by different categories so I can quickly find what area I’m looking for, or even what specific item. I can also do a keyword search, which is what I did today. My daughters are really into building anything, and that was how I found the Gears Gears Gears sets that look amazing.

  2. I really love the wide variety of toys they have for play. There is a great assortment of guided activities and independent, free exploration games. They are sturdy, well made, and engaging for young children.

  3. My son loves learning about the world and science, he’d have a blast with this set. I love how Learning Resources creates toys that are educational and fun.
